The Season of His Return

I have spent a good deal of time thinking about reading and researching and talking about the 'end times'

The end times...that terms sounds a little gloomy and so this blog, well it is the same message but a different delivery with a positive connotation by using instead "The Season of His Second Coming" and talking in the affirmative that you are going to be ready. Are you ready? You know what I had never expected is that although the end times will be intense, it will also be a time of God using His people in a way that is blessed as He gets His messaged delivered to as many as will hear it before the time ends. Once He is here folks…that is it. No more second chances-just moaning. Me, I seem to be celebrating these days. Now, I am not an expert and this is brief but here is what I know about a book called mysterious but to me it is unfolding right in front of my eyes, Revelation.

Now, why are we going to reflect on the 22 verses of this the last book of the Bible? For a few reasons but the most dominant is that it is the only book of the Bible that promises a blessing to the one who reads and studies the book. The only one and that verse is found in Chapter 3 "God blesses the one who reads the words of this prophecy to the church, and He blesses all who will listen to it's message and obeys what it says, for the time is near". If you have been avoiding this book, stop. When this book was written…they had some time but we are here in the midst of this season. The most important reason I love this book is found in Chapter one and this is clear-how do we act and feel during the worst of times of the earth? Well, in the words of the Lord Himself found in verse 17: "Fear not I am the first and the last". Chapter 2 verse ten says, "Fear none of the things which you shall suffer". One of my personal favorite scriptures in the whole Bible is found in Revelation chapter three and start with verse 12 to 18 but here is what is says with brevity "since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth". I don’t intend to interpret the meanings of the whole book…I just want to invite you to ask the Lord for His insight and His wisdom that He would show you what you need to understand about the season of His coming and what the book of Revelation has for you to know.

Here is what I also enjoyed knowing about how God uses us…just look at what happened to the author of the book, they call him "John The Revelator". John, an original disciple of Jesus was banished for his Christian testimony to a secluded life on Patmos by the Roman government. Patmos is a sterile island about 20 miles in circumference in the Aegean Sea. Now, it is called ''Patimo'' or ''Patmosa'' meaning ‘my killing’. Being a sterile island it was unable to produce fruit bearing plants. How interesting that God would use such a place to bring John the Revelation of the living Jesus. The island itself lacked vitality. However, the favor of God brought verve or dynamism and hope. The book of Revelation is not pure mystery; it is our guide to life in the times of His return. John explains that although he was banished as punishment, he was an innocent man. Furthermore, what favor he obtained that God would reveal such magnificent and unspeakable things to him. God used his time of aloneness in this desolate but beautiful place to be where He revealed our future. The last is the first the Word says and this is the last book of the Bible. The Bible contains 66 books, 39 Old Testament and 27 New Testament. The book of Revelation is the last and has 22 significant verses.

There is a plethora of information out there about the end times. I stick to the Word. All confusion ends there, as the Word of God confirms the truth.  Although it is not necessary to agree on everything, most of us will agree that an end time event will occur. It does not matter when we think this begins, or how it will occur. I believe also that Revelation is not a book that happens in order. Nevertheless, being a blessing for every reader…open and begin.

Study it.

Let the Holy Sprit reveal to you what you need to know.

Amen?
